Visit the Cart and Wagon Shed to view our displays of historic artefacts and documents related to the history of Shoeburyness. With its onsite toilets and the Serendipity Cafe, the Cart and Wagon Shed makes an ideal base or stopover for exploring Gunners Park and the many historic buildings and monuments nearby. Our display hall is free to enter and highlights local points of interest and suggested walking routes.

Public transport
Train: The Cart and Wagon Shed is 0.6 miles from Shoeburyness rail station. There are frequent c2c trains from London Fenchurch Street, West Ham, Basildon and Southend.
Bus: Arriva route 9 runs between Rayleigh and Shoeburyness East Beach via Southend – the nearest stop to the Cart and Wagon Shed is 0.5 miles away on Ness Road (just north of the junction with Church Road). On selected days during the spring and summer, you can also take the Ensignbus open-top route 99 bus that runs between Southend and Shoeburyness East Beach.
Parking
Southend-on-Sea City Council operate a free car park opposite the Cart and Wagon Shed on Warrior Square Road. There is another free Council car park nearby in the Gunners Park recreational area.
